How to deal with the stress of being unemployed...

Hello Beauties!

I have been meaning to do this post for quite some time but I usually don't talk about very serious and personal stuff on the blog so I wasn't sure about writing this post (not that makeup isn't serious stuff for me. Of course it is but today's topic is more serious because it involves emotions and stress and finances and basically everything in life.
So a few weeks back I finally decided to leave my job. In the beginning I was all happy and satisfied but then the euphoria faded down and I realized it is not as easy to cope with unemployment as it seemed in the beginning. I do not regret my decision at all but now I know it is one of the most stressful life experiences. It's only been a few weeks since I quit but I already feel frustrated because being unemployed changes the way we see ourselves. I started comparing myself with others who are doing better with their lives, I was losing my self esteem and confidence and I used to feel miserable all the time. But then I thought feeling miserable is not going to do any good I need to take control of my life and so I started to look for ways to fix my life and get the maximum out of my free days.

Here are the few things that have helped me in getting my life sorted. I am still not working but I feel so much better and purposeful now.

Routine:
You don't have anywhere to go, you don't have much to do, you have lots of free time so you can spend as many hours in bed as you want. Right?...
WRONG.
Do not procrastinate, do not become lazy it will make you feel more miserable. Get up, do the things that need to be done early in the morning. Pay more attention to yourself.
Remember when you had a job you wanted to do a lot of things but didn't have time? Now you have it so utilize it, don't waste it lying in bed.
I make a to do list everyday as soon as I get up and tick the items off when they are done. I exercise regularly now and pay more attention to my skin care and health. My to do list also include "what I am going to eat in a day" so I don't end up eating any junk when I am bored.

Hobbies:
If I am asked what are my hobbies I am never able to give a specific answer because I like doing a lot of things. I like reading, I love putting on makeup,I like accounting and baking and making DIY crafts, I like reading other people's blogs so I do a lot of these things but I do these only during the time I have set aside for these activities in my timetable.
- Do not waste all your time on social media and gadgets I suggest you to get a productive hobby.

Freelancing:
Freelancing and working from home is a thing these days. There are websites where you can find freelance work but usually it is difficult for newbies to get work there so I suggest you to join some Facebook groups and contact people offering jobs which you can do.
As I said I like accounting so I help some small businesses with their accounts and finance work.

Get dressed every single day:
You are not going anywhere doesn't mean you can stay in your PJ's all day. Keep this for weekends only, on weekdays get dressed properly. Take shower, do your hair, wear some makeup, lipstick and mascara have magical powers to instantly boost your mood, believe me.

Travel:
Since I was finally not busy, my dad planned a family trip to KSA and Dubai and I don't think I need to talk about how much traveling can change your perspective of life and can help you have a fresh start. You learn a lot of things when you travel, you learn to value experiences over things, you learn to face different situations, you become open and accepting towards different ways of life.
If you have enough savings, TRAVEL.  But of course it is not sensible to spend all your savings on traveling especially when you are jobless so try exploring you own city instead.

Meditate:
I used to meditate regularly few years ago but then... life happened, I got busy with studies and work and everything and stopped practicing it, but now I have started it again. I feel so much better when I meditate I can't even explain it. You need to do it yourself to see what I mean. I'll do a separate post very soon about what techniques and what Apps i use to meditate.

Feel Alive:
Do things which make you feel alive watch cricket or football matches, play video games, do things which you are passionate about, they make adrenaline spun and make you feel alive and help you get rid of miserable feelings.

So that's it for today...
I'll be back soon... till than take care

Hair Brush: cleaning and maintenance...

Hello beauties!

Hair brush cleaning
I am back with another hair related post well it is not actually about hair but about hair brushes but isn't that the same thing? Yes it is ,because a good quality and well maintained hair brush make a hell lot of difference to how your hair look.
So here I am sharing a few tips which can help you in getting the best out of your hair brush. So let's get started:

Most women are very careful about cleaning their makeup brushes so they don't get any pimples but it's surprising that they neglect their hair brush which is equally important. All the dirt and germs and oils and all gross things from our unwashed hair are piled up in the hair brush and when we use it again everything is transferred back to our clean hair which makes them look dull and dirty, so cleaning the hair brush regularly is very important and also it's very simple, just follow the steps below:
- Remove the hair from brush after every use. I use the tail of rat tail comb but you can also use a pen or pencil. Just run the pen through the bristles a few time and pull out the hair strands. Don't forget to make a hair ball and discard it immediately.
- Wash your brush with a shampoo or soap regularly. I usually do it in 2-3 weeks (sometimes after a month). Just soak the bristles in soapy water for a few minutes and lightly scrub with an old tootbrush or fingers. Then let it dry for a few hours.

- Do not use brush on wet hair instead use a wide tooth comb as wet hair tend to break more and are not easy to pull out from the brush.

- Buy a good quality hair brush that doesn't get ruined when you wash it or pull out the hair from it. Usually we don't pay much attention to the type of brush we are buying but it is important to get the right brush for your hair for example a natural boar bristle brush is gentle and good for fine hair and nylon synthetic bristles are best for super thick hair, so do your research before buying one. You can use a hair brush for years so it's worth investing in plus a good quality brush will last longer than a bad one.If the plastic balls at the top of bristles start coming out or the brush starts tangling you hair too much you should immediately buy a new one.

So that's it for today. I'll be back soon till then take care...

7 lipstick mistakes and how to avoid them...

Hello beauties!

I am back and today I am going to talk about every makeup junkie's first love i.e. lipsticks. A lipstick can brighten up your mood and can make you look polished in an instant. A lipstick can turn you into a diva in an instant but it can also take you from chic to clownish in a second if not applied right. So today I am going to share with you 7 things that you should avoid when it comes to applying lipstick and also I am going to share a few tips with you on how to avoid these mistakes.

1- Cracked and dry lips:
We always cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize our face before makeup but most of us forget to exfoliate and moisturize our lips. Preparing the lips before putting on any lipstick especially a liquid lipstick is as important as preparing the rest of your face before makeup.
How to avoid:
- Exfoliate your lips with a gentle scrub. You can also make a DIY scrub with sugar and coconut oil.
- Always put on a lip balm or Vaseline before starting your makeup so it sinks into the skin by the time you put on your lipstick if it doesn't sink in completely wipe off the excess with a tissue.

2- Dark Lip Liner:
A lip liner that doesn't match the lip color! that's my biggest pet peeve. When I was a kid many of my mom's friends and cousins used to wear this dark almost black lip liner with a lighter color filled inside, it was a thing back then but some women still do it don't know why. That just looks ugly girls.
How to avoid:
Use a lip liner shade that matches and blends with your lipstick.

3- Lipstick on teeth:
When you are done with your makeup don't forget to do the teeth check.
How to avoid: After applying your lipstick stick one of your fingers into your mouth with lips slightly pouted, then pull your finger out slowly. In this way the excess lipstick will be removed now just wipe off the lipstick from your finger.
4- A lipstick that's too light:
When it comes to lipstick, it's a rare case when you go too dark, going too light on the other hand is very common.
If you put on a lipstick that is too dark it doesn't look as bad as a lipstick that is too light. A dark lipstick can make your lips look thinner but I think it's better than looking like a living dead.
A nude lipstick can make you look fresh and polished but most of us make this mistake of picking a lipstick that is too light for our skin tone and end up looking lifeless.
How to avoid:
Try different shades on your lips before buying.

5- Going over border:
Most of us tend to think that overdrawing our lips will make them look fuller well it is true to some extent but if you go slightly overboard it can make you look crazy.
How to avoid:
 - Use gloss at the center of your lips.
- For fuller lips learn highlighting and contouring techniques and use them instead of going out of the border.

6- Unblended patches of lipstick:
I have seen girls who try to make a dark lipstick lighter by dabbing it randomly over the lips and then leaving it unblended. They think it will give them a subtle hint of color but it looks patchy.
Come on girls if you want light lipstick buy a lighter shade or if you want to work with your existing one put it lightly all over your lips and then wipe off the excess with a tissue.

7- Applying too many layers:
Applying too many layers of lipstick (especially of liquid lipstick) so that it stays on longer is another mistake we make. It sure does increase the staying power of lipstick but we end up with patchy and not so attractive looking lips.
How to avoid:
Apply only two layers. Apply the first layer, blot it with a tissue paper and then apply the second layer.

So that's it for today girls...
I'll be back soon till then take care...

Tips For Contact Lens Wearers..

Hello beauties!

As you all would probably know by now (after seeing all my pictures) that I wear contact lenses almost all the time (at least 8 hours a day), people keep asking me questions like doesn't it hurt or irritate you?
I hear horrible comments and stories about contact lenses all the time but I have been wearing them on a daily basis for about 6-7 years and I have never had any serious problems except that sometimes I feel a little dryness for which I use eye drops (recommended by my doctor) or rose water and it goes away (remeber to remove contacts before using any eyedrops). But yes I do take care of my contact lenses and of my eyes more than anything else in the world.  Here, I am sharing a few things which I do and I think every girl who loves doing makeup and wears contact lenses should do:

Put on Contacts before makeup:
I always put on my contact lenses before any makeup especially eye makeup because if you apply it after doing all your makeup it is more likely that they will come in contact with your lashes or lids or lash line and the products will transfer to them. Also, I remove my lenses before removing my makeup.

Apply mascara from middle of the lashes to tips:
Another tip is I apply mascara only on the length of my lashes leaving the roots untouched i.e. I start from the middle of the lashes not from the roots. This not only makes the contact lenses safe but also keeps my lashes looking natural.

Keep tightlining to minimum:
I am a fan of tightlining as I think it is the best way to apply eyeliner on my eyes without covering my already non-existent lids. But as much as I love tightlining my eyes I know it can affect my contacts and I try to keep the tight lining to minimum.

Do not rub your eyes:
If I ever feel any irritation or itching in my eyes I immediately remove my lenses. You should never rub your eyes when you are wearing contact lenses as the makeup will get into your eyes and the residues of makeup will create a film on lenses and you know what will happen next..

Do not use false lashes:
I never use false eyelashes and I suggest you too to keep it to minimum i.e. for some special occassions only and be very careful while applying glue.

Avoid High temperature:
And the most important is you should never ever go near heat when you are wearing lenses. If you are planning to blow dry your hair or cook or anything that involves high temperature do it before you put on your contacts. The contact lenses are made of plastic and the high temperature may cause them to melt and it can cause some real damage to the eyes.

Also make sure that you keep your lenses, lens case, makeup brushes and makeup products clean and never sleep with your contact lenses on.

Hope this post has helped you in some way :)

That's it for today..
I'll be back soon...
Till then take care Bubye...

Freeman's Chocolate and Strawberry Clay Mask Review

Hello beauties!
How are you doing?

Today I am going to post a review about Freeman’s Strawberry and Chocolate Clay Mask. Freeman is that one brand that we all have been seeing since forever. I have used some other masks from Freeman earlier but this is the first time I have used this clay mask and since this brand has never disappointed me I had the similar expectations from this mask as well.
To know if this mask fulfill my expectations or not read on my review:

Starting with product’s claims:
This indulgent mask does more than tantalize your taste buds! Tone skin and diminish the appearance of large pores with oil-absorbing clays. Delight in delectable Chocolate and Strawberry while Shea and Cocoa Butter moisturize for smoother, softer skin. Perfect for normal to dry skin.
Packaging:
It comes in a 150 ml red regular plastic tube like most masks.

My Thoughts:
First thing first the mask smells like chocolate milk shake (no smell of strawberries) the fragrance is really overpowering and tempting. The moment I opened it I got this really strong craving for chocolate shake and ice cream.
The texture of the mask is neither thick nor very thin and it feels very light on skin. It dries out fast i.e. it takes less than 10 minutes to dry out completely.
When we apply any clay masks we feel our skin stretching under the mask but I did not feel this painful stretching with this mask which I loved about it.
Generally clay masks are not considered suitable for dry skin but I think this mask is good for dry skin as well. I have normal/combination skin but occasionally I get some dry patches on my skin. I started using this mask in last month when my face was at its worst I had several dry patches and uneven skin tone due to daily sun exposure in extreme heat and it actually did wonders for my skin. After using this mask for the first time my skin felt moisturized and most of the dry patches were gone and it also helped in evening out my skin tone.
Lately I have noticed that the pores around my nose are getting larger and visible (this really makes me worried) this mask claims to diminish the appearance of large pores but I did not feel any difference in the appearance of my pores. However the other claims of the mask to make the skin smoother and softer are very accurate.
After using this mask for about 3 weeks my skin has become softer. The shea and cocoa butter make this mask really moisturizing and I do not need to apply any other moisturizer after washing off this mask, this can be an issue for people with very oily skin.
As per the directions it should be used two times a week or as often as needed, when I first started using this mask I used it on alternate days but now as my skin is getting better I use it only twice a week.
Price and availability:
It is easily available on all supermarkets and pharmacies and online. I got mine from Bin Hashim Pharmacy and Supermarket for Rs.340/-

In the end I would recommend this mask to anyone who is looking for budget friendly face mask for even toned and moisturized skin.

That’s it for today I’ll be back soon till then take care..
P.S Have you used this face mask? I’d love to hear what do you think about it..

5 Beauty hacks I actually use

Hello beauties!
How are you all doing?

Today I am going to share some beauty hacks with you which I actually follow. The internet is filled with zillions of beauty hacks and tips some of which are really helpful. I have tried many of them and here I am sharing those which have actually worked for me and I think you should give them a try too.

Beauty hack no.1:
I use scotch tape on the sides of the eyes as a guideline while doing my eye makeup like I did here. It guides me
1) in drawing the perfect wing of eyeliner and
2) in applying the eye shadows so that I do not end up applying more shadow on one eye than on the other.

Beauty hack #2:
I use coconut oil as eye makeup remover. I just put a few drops of oil on cotton and use it to clean my makeup.

Beauty hack #3:
Before applying makeup I prime my face with ice. It closes/shrinks the pores and makes the makeup application smooth.
Image from google

Beauty hack #4:
Before applying perfume I apply vaseline (petroleum jelly) on my pulse point. Using vaseline under perfume make the fragrance last longer.

Beauty hack #5:
I don't like my makeup to look all matte and dry so after completing all my makeup I spray a DIY mixture on my face to get a dewy and youthful finish.
I mix the rosewater with glycerin and lemon juice(optional) and use it as a makeup fixing spray.

So these are my top favorite beauty hacks.
I'll be back soon till than take care
