How I take care of my knees and elbows...

Hello beauties!

I am back and today I am going to take about those parts of our body that we often neglect i.e. our knees and elbows. Usually we don't pay as much attention to our knees and elbows as we pay to our face, hands and feet because most of the time they are covered with clothes and nobody sees them and that's why they end up being dark and dry with flaky skin.

Image from google

In my teen years I was a really lazy person who did not pay much attention to myself but now I take really good care of myself and this includes taking care of my knees and elbows. And today I am going to share with you how I keep my knees and elbows well moisturize, well nourished and soft.

Just like our facial skin, we need to follow at least 3 steps for our knees and elbows i.e. cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing.

Cleansing:
Try not to use soaps for washing your knees and elbows as they dry out the already dry skin, use a gentle moisturizing body wash instead. Also, use a loofah while cleansing your body to remove the dead skin at the same time.

Exfoliating:
Since the skin around the knees and elbows is thicker than the rest of the body the exfoliation needs to be intense so that all the dead, dry and flaky skin is removed.
I have used some scrubs especially formulated for body in the past but now I use my St. Ives apricot scrub. It's granules are quite coarse so it works great on my knees and elbows and also its really affordable.

Another product I use for exfoliation is Saeed Ghani Ubtan. I have talked about this amazing thing in detail a post which you can find here. It not only exfoliates but also evens out the skin tone.

Moisturizing:
Just like exfoliation the moisturizing needs to be more intense on these areas because there are no oil producing glands around the knees and elbows. There are a gazillion body moisturizers available in the market in different forms like lotions, creams, oils and butters so you have a lot of choices but make sure that the one you are using is capable of holding the moisture for a long period without being greasy.
Currently I am using this Nivea one.

Other than these things you can also try some homemade scrubs and moisturizers for your knees and elbows. I have tried these two recipes myself and found them really effective.
1- I mix the lemon juice and honey in equal quantity and apply the mixture to my knees and elbows and then wash it off after about 20-25 minutes.
2- I also use a mixture of sugar and olive oil to exfoliate the dead skin from my knees and elbows.

So that's it for today hope you like my tips...

2 Minute cake in a microwave recipe

Hello beauties!

I am back.
Today's post is not going to be a usual one because it's not about beauty or fashion or anything like that, it's a food recipe instead.
I am not much into cooking so I never try those difficult recipes that take forever to cook. I only try recipes that taste good and are easy to make. I tried this 2 minute brownie in a mug recipe a few days back and I loved it so I thought of sharing this with you.
It does not look very good in the video but believe me it was yummy...

So enjoy the recipe and tell me in the comments if you like it or not...

That's it for today...

Lasagne with White Sauce recipe

Hello beauties!
I am back with another post. But this post is going to be totally different from my regular posts because today I am going to share a food recipe with you. I am not much into cooking and even when I want to try some recipes I never find time to do so becuase of my busy routine.
But then on one fine weekend I decided to try my hands at cooking. My mom was planning to make lasagne that day and I said Mom you take some rest,  I'll do the cooking today (but she stayed with me in the kitchen all the time because she didn't have trust on me :/).

I googled a few recipes for making lasagne and eventually decided to make the white sauce one becuase I like everything with white sauce be it pasta or lasagne or anything.

So I started cooking/baking and everybody at my home was sure that I am going to make a disaster soon (I'll share my first baking experience some other time :p).  But I was very cautious this time and you can see the result.

sorry I did not take any good pictures because I had no plans of posting this online

Okh,  enough of my ramblings...  let's move on to the recipe...

First I cooked 1/2 kg ground beef with a little water and salt and then added the following ingredients
1 chopped onion,
1 tomato
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
Just a pinch of oregano
1 teaspoon garlic
1 teaspoon pepper.
And then let it cook till it was completely dry and cooked. (For about 20-25 minutes).

In another pan I boiled the lasagne sheets (I just added some salt along with water and sheets and let them cook).
In the meanwhile I took another pan and made the white sauce...
I melted 2 tablespoons of butter and then added 3 tablespoons of all purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper each and mixed them together.
Then I gradually added 2 cups of milk while constantly stirring the mixture and when it became thick I removed it from the heat.
Then I added 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese into this sauce and the sauce is done.
Then came the time to mix all these things.
In a baking dish I set the lasagne sheets and put the beef and white sauce and 1 cup of cheese in layers on these sheets and then added another layer of lasgne sheets on top.

After that I just put the dish in the preheated oven for around 30-35 minutes and thats it.
When I tasted this lasagne I couldn't believe that I made this because I wasn't expecting such a good result after my first failed baking attempt but it was yummy.  I know that sounds like boasting but honestly it was delicious. Now, I am really motivated to try some other recipes as well so you should expect more food posts now but that's it for today...

I'll be back soon till then take care and tell me in the comments how was your first cooking experience.

DIY Room Decor- Switchboard Decor

Hello beauties!
Today I am going to share with you a switch board décor DIY. A few months back I decided to redecorate my room and at that time all I used to do was searching for room décor ideas. I saw this DIY on Pinterest and immediately decided to do it but then I got busy and all my room renovation plans got delayed. Now this weekend I finally decided to resume my room décor project and started with decorating the switchboards in my room.
Actually I am sharing not one but two DIY’sJ.
I decorated two switchboards in my room; first with a simple printed card that I cut from an old calendar and the other one with glitter.
First:
Things needed:
For this I just needed an old calendar with a picture or some print and some glue.
Directions:
1-      I measured the board with a scale and cut the old calendar equal to the size of the board.
2-      Then with a blade I made a hole on that calendar sheet equal to the size of switch/button.
3-      Then I Just pasted the sheet on the switch board with the glue.
4-      And the board is ready.
Second:
Things needed:
For this I needed some glitter and glue. I bought these bottles of glitter from a stationery shop years ago for some crafts but never used them and I also had this UHU glue at home.
Directions:
Its better if you remove the board from the wall and put it on a smooth surface but I did not know how to get it off the wall, I tried but the screws were too stubborn so I gave up and started working while the board was still on the wall.
For details about how I did this DIY read on the steps:
1-      I just took a small amount of glitter out of the bottle and put it on a piece of paper so I do not need to open and close the bottle again and again.
2-      Then I Applied UHU on a small area of the board with one of my fingers.
3-      Then with another clean finger I pressed some glitter lightly over the area on which I applied glue.
4-      I repeat it on the rest of the board till whole board is covered with glitter.
5-      And the board is ready.

Aren’t these DIY’s really simple and easy to do? What do you think about these?
That’s it for today. I hope you liked this post.
I’ll be back soon till then take care.. bubye J

5 Beauty hacks I actually use

Hello beauties!
How are you all doing?

Today I am going to share some beauty hacks with you which I actually follow. The internet is filled with zillions of beauty hacks and tips some of which are really helpful. I have tried many of them and here I am sharing those which have actually worked for me and I think you should give them a try too.

Beauty hack no.1:
I use scotch tape on the sides of the eyes as a guideline while doing my eye makeup like I did here. It guides me
1) in drawing the perfect wing of eyeliner and
2) in applying the eye shadows so that I do not end up applying more shadow on one eye than on the other.

Beauty hack #2:
I use coconut oil as eye makeup remover. I just put a few drops of oil on cotton and use it to clean my makeup.

Beauty hack #3:
Before applying makeup I prime my face with ice. It closes/shrinks the pores and makes the makeup application smooth.
Image from google

Beauty hack #4:
Before applying perfume I apply vaseline (petroleum jelly) on my pulse point. Using vaseline under perfume make the fragrance last longer.

Beauty hack #5:
I don't like my makeup to look all matte and dry so after completing all my makeup I spray a DIY mixture on my face to get a dewy and youthful finish.
I mix the rosewater with glycerin and lemon juice(optional) and use it as a makeup fixing spray.

So these are my top favorite beauty hacks.
I'll be back soon till than take care

Mars shake recipe

Hello people! How are you all doin'?
Today I'm writing about something I love yes it is chocolate shakem
I love having chocolate shakes and the hot weather just deepens my love..
So today i.e. on a hot summer day when I was at home and didn't have much to do I decided to make my own mars chocolate shake.
And when I am done with the shake thing I thought of sharing it with you too :p so here I am sharing my recipe of chocolate shake with you people :) hope you'll enjoy it..
What ingredients did I use?
> 4 chocolate bars (I planned to make a mars shake but then I realized I have only 2 of them so I added 2 snickers' bars too).
> 1/2 litre vanilla ice cream.
> 3-4 cups of milk.
> 2 teaspoon of sugar (I didn't want to make it too sweet so just added 2 teaspoon of sugar).
How I made it?
First I mixed the sugar and half of the milk with chocolates and blended them.  Then added ice cream and more milk and blend for 10-15 seconds again and done.
It was so yummy I know I'm going to make it everyday from now(atleast for few weeks).Seriously no chocolate has ever tasted this good ever. Lol yea I know it sounds like bragging but when you try your hands at something for the first time and it turns out good that's how you feel.. nah? :D
I'm also planning to experiment a little next time by adding more ingredients like chocolate chips or cookies or cream may be.
Ok that's it for now.. saying bubye with a picture of my shake... sorry I couldn't take any better pictures since I was too busy first in making and then in having my yummy shake..
Bubye take care
Loads of love :)
