Hair Brush: cleaning and maintenance...

Hello beauties!

Hair brush cleaning
I am back with another hair related post well it is not actually about hair but about hair brushes but isn't that the same thing? Yes it is ,because a good quality and well maintained hair brush make a hell lot of difference to how your hair look.
So here I am sharing a few tips which can help you in getting the best out of your hair brush. So let's get started:

Most women are very careful about cleaning their makeup brushes so they don't get any pimples but it's surprising that they neglect their hair brush which is equally important. All the dirt and germs and oils and all gross things from our unwashed hair are piled up in the hair brush and when we use it again everything is transferred back to our clean hair which makes them look dull and dirty, so cleaning the hair brush regularly is very important and also it's very simple, just follow the steps below:
- Remove the hair from brush after every use. I use the tail of rat tail comb but you can also use a pen or pencil. Just run the pen through the bristles a few time and pull out the hair strands. Don't forget to make a hair ball and discard it immediately.
- Wash your brush with a shampoo or soap regularly. I usually do it in 2-3 weeks (sometimes after a month). Just soak the bristles in soapy water for a few minutes and lightly scrub with an old tootbrush or fingers. Then let it dry for a few hours.

- Do not use brush on wet hair instead use a wide tooth comb as wet hair tend to break more and are not easy to pull out from the brush.

- Buy a good quality hair brush that doesn't get ruined when you wash it or pull out the hair from it. Usually we don't pay much attention to the type of brush we are buying but it is important to get the right brush for your hair for example a natural boar bristle brush is gentle and good for fine hair and nylon synthetic bristles are best for super thick hair, so do your research before buying one. You can use a hair brush for years so it's worth investing in plus a good quality brush will last longer than a bad one.If the plastic balls at the top of bristles start coming out or the brush starts tangling you hair too much you should immediately buy a new one.

So that's it for today. I'll be back soon till then take care...

Himalaya Herbals Anti Hair Fall Cream- Review

Hello beauties!

I am back. I was not able to update the blog in a long time because I was busy with work and wasn’t getting time to write but now I am back to post regularly (hopefully).
Whenever my work schedule gets hectic or I have my exams or whenever I am stressed for any reason my hair start falling and the same is happening right now.
I was quite happy with my existing hair care routine which I shared here but then I noticed my hair are getting thinner. At first I thought I don’t need to do much about it as I usually have hair fall during this time of the year but then one day I saw this himalaya herbals anti- hair fall cream and decided to give it a go.

Himalaya herbals is a well known Indian brand. It was my first experience with this brand but I have read great things about this brand on many Indian blogs so I was really excited to try this out.

Usage:
As per instructions it should be used twice a day, once at night and second after hair wash on damp hair but it is so oily that I never got the courage to use it on my washed hair. I just use it before going to bed and leave it overnight and then wash it off in the morning.

Packaging:
It comes in a 140 ml white plastic tub with a green lid. The quality of plastic is not very good but not bad either, it’s pretty average with green and red printing.

Smell:
It smells like most Indian hair oils which contain Amla, the smell is strong but not unbearable for me. It bothers me when I apply but I adjust to it after a few minutes.

Texture:
The consistency is creamy neither thick nor too runny so it’s easy to apply and massage onto hair and scalp. I massage a generous amount on to my scalp and brush it through my hair so it spreads evenly.

Result:
Now comes the most important part i.e. whether the cream actually lives up to its claim or not.
It makes my hair soft and they feel more hydrated and moisturized after I wash it off so I like it for that but even after using it for a month I didn’t see any reduction in hair fall so it was a miss in this respect.
The tub contains 140 ml but a generous amount is needed to be applied so I don’t think it would last more than 10-12 applications.

Availability and price:
The Himalaya herbals products are available on daraz.pk but I did not find this hair cream there. I got mine from a local grocery store for Rs.285/-.

That’s it for today…
I’ll be back soon till then take care

My first YouTube video... Easy everyday hairstyle

Hello beauties!

I have an announcement and that is I have finally started my YouTube channel which I wanted to do for ages.
I had plans of starting a YouTube channel even before I started this blog but my plans never got executed because I wasn’t brave enough. Being on camera is difficult, I realized it when I filmed my first video but never got the courage to upload it. But now I have filmed a hair tutorial again. The video doesn’t look perfect though as I shot it without any proper lighting but I am uploading it anyways. Have a look at my first video.
The hairstyle is very simple and casual you can wear it anywhere you want from school, college to casual lunch with friends or to mall. You can add some accessories like pearls or beads and it will be good for weddings. :)

Hope you like it :)

That’s it for today I’ll be back soon till then take care…

The best hair straighteners

Hello everyone!

Sleek straight hair never go out of style. You can wear them at every occasion in every season at any time of the day and they will look appropriate.

Image from google

Those who are not blessed with straight hair try different things to get them. Over the years many treatments and technologies have been introduced to get those sleek, straight locks like rebounding and Brazilian and Japanese treatments which straighten your hair permanently but of course they are expensive and can cause a lot of damage to your hair if you don’t take proper care.
Because of these reasons many women rely on flat irons and other such tools to straighten their hair temporarily.
I naturally have straight hair so I don't use straighteners but growing up I have seen my sister struggling with different hair straighteners. Her hair are wavy and she is happy with them so she never went for any permanent treatment but occasionally she would straighten them with flat irons and choosing a flat iron that actually does the job was a difficult task for her.
There are many types of straighteners available in the market but most of us don’t know which one should we choose and more often than not we end up choosing the wrong one. So I decided to do some research and write a post that would help my readers and today I am sharing with you guys a few things that I have learned about hair straighteners that can help you choose the best straightening tool for you. So let's get started:

For fine hair :
Fine hair are likely to burn easily so its better to buy a flat iron in which you can adjust the temperature so that you can adjust the heat as per your need. Also, ceramic is softer on hair that makes it ideal for fine hair so its better to choose an iron with ceramic plates.

For thick hair:
Irons with wider plates are better for thick, coarse and long hair as they straighten the hair faster.
In general, the thicker your hair the more advanced flat iron you should buy. Tourmaline and titanium plates work best for this type of hair.

When you are in hurry:
Hair straightening brushes have been very popular among you-tubers and bloggers recently. I have seen mixed reviews about these brushes but I think they are great for times when you are in hurry and need to straighten your hair really fast. Fast hair straightener brushes are easier to use and take less time as they also detangle the hair while straightening them.

For Short hair:
For short hair it’s better to use a smaller iron as they give more control and precision. One inch iron is the standard size which works for almost every hair type but irons smaller than one inch are good for short hair as they allow you to iron small sections.

On budget:
If you like wearing your hair straight sometimes and curly others, you can get a multi-functional iron. Personally I believe more in products that are made for a specific task but if you want to save yourself space and money hair irons with changeable plates are available in the market like this one

I naturally have straight hair so I don’t use any hair straighteners but I have done a lot of research to gather all this information. I hope this post is helpful for you but these are just a few guidelines and I recommend that you do your research before going shopping or before buying any beautyproducts online. You might find yourself inclined towards the cheapest or the cutest looking option available but they are not always the best ones so I recommend you read some reviews about that particular product before buying it.

That’s it for today
I’ll be back soon till then take care…

My hair care routine- For colored hair

Hello beauties!

I am back and today I have decided to share my hair care routine with you. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook or if you know me personally you would probably know that I have recently got my hair coloured and of course coloring is not the best thing you can do to your hair so I need to take extra care of my hair these days.
No I am not doing anything fancy or super expensive I am just using a few drugstore products which are working for me and which I am going to share with you today so let's get started:

When I got my hair colored the first thing I started using was Tresemme color vibrance protection shampoo along with the conditioner from the same range but at that time my hair were really dry and rough so I needed something extra and that's when I bought the Loreal Elvive color protect caring hair mask.

It was also featured in my April favorites. I have been using this for more than two months now and I really love this. I have already finished my second tub.
I don't know why but I like to use the products from the same range together so when I bought this mask I had to buy the shampoo too and I am glad that I did because this duo is doing a really good job. They have made my hair really soft, silky and smooth.
My tip is to keep the hair mask into your for a little longer than usual.

I still use my tressemme shampoo and conditioner because they give a feeling of newness to my hair color. Whenever I use these two products my hair colour becomes more vibrant so I use the loreal and tresemme products together.

Actually I am using three shampoos these days, I also use the Johnson's baby shampoo. I am someone who washes my hair everyday and since I have already put too many chemicals into my hair now I think I need to give them a break and I believe that baby shampoos contain lesser chemicals than any other shampoos so I use this baby shampoo on alternate days.

I also use a mixture of coconut and castor oil once or twice a week. I just massage it into my hair and leave it for 1-2 hours and then wash with any of my regular shampoos (you can leave it overnight if the greasiness does not bother you).

Also, I don't brush my hair very often I just do it once a day but when I do it I make sure that I do at least 100 strokes. I don't know if it's just a myth that brushing your hair 100 times make them shinier or stronger but it makes my hair look straighter and more playful (I love to play with my hair after brushing! you know what I mean) so I just do this.
And that's it... that's pretty much everything I am doing to my hair. Using all these products regualrly has really made a difference.

That's it for today... I'll be back soon till then take care and tell me in the comments which are your favourite hair care products?

Monthly favorites- for April

Hello beauties!

I am back and today I am going to share with you some of my favorite things that I loved during last month i.e. April.
I don't usually do any favorites posts but in the last month there were a number of things that I really liked and I wanted to show them off so I finally decided to do my first ever favorites post. So here goes my list of favorite things...

Books:
The forty rules of love:
This is a novel that contains two different stories. The first one is about a middle aged women who wasn't happy with her routine and married life and started working for a literary agency after years of being a housewife. She was given a book named "sweet blasphemy" to review and that changed her life completely.
The second story is the story of a dervish, Shams and his companion, Rumi who was a famous scholar of Konya in 13th century. The Shams of Tabriz had his forty rules of love which the writer had explained beautifully by relating them to different tales.

Me before you:
This book was on my to read list for a long time and finally in April I read it. Generally,  I am not much into romantic novels but the title and some reviews of this book got my interest. It's a story of a small town girl, Lou who started working as a carer of a quadriplegic to support her family financially.
Will (her boss) was hopeless and wanted to end his life because he had an adventurous nature and had a successful past but now he was stuck in a wheelchair after an accident. Lou wanted to change his mind and in the end she became a whole new person herself. The story is about how their lives changed after they met each other.

Makeup:

-Essence Soft Touch mousse makeup:
I've had this foundation lying in my vanity for a long time but I didn't use it much in fall and winter months. When this hot season started I needed a lighter foundation that wouldn't melt with heat and would let my skin breath so I started using it again and I started liking it all over again. You can read the details about this foundation here.

- Maybelline lash sensational mascara:
I got this one as a gift about a month ago and since then I am using it everyday. It's a great mascara for everyday. I have shared a detailed post about it here.

Atiqa Odho compact and contouring powder:
In this scorching summer we need a good compact powder more than anything... Right? And what can be better than a powder with SPF in it?  You can read more about this powder here. I also have their contouring powder in shade chocolate which is good for a light and subtle contour.

Hair care:
Loreal colour protect caring mask:
If you follow me on Instagram you would probably know that I have recently got my hair colored. After coloring, my hair became really dry and rough so I needed to take exra of them and that's when I started using this hair mask and I am glad that I bought this because it has made my hair really soft. I am also using some other products for colour treated hair which are working for me, so if you want me to share my detailed hair care routine let me know in the comments :)

The cat eye glasses.
The last but not the least is this pair of cat eye glasses. Generally I am a contact lens person and only wear glasses when I am home. But since I have bought this pair I have been wearing it all the time, everywhere because I just love this.

Okh that's it for today

Hair contouring- The IT hair for 2016...

Hello beauties!
How are you doing? I'm back to the blogging world after a long break but now I promise I am here to stay.
Today I am going to talk about a new hair trend with you and it is hair contouring. Yes! after contouring with makeup and strobing for enhancing our facial features now we have hair contouring (like learning the makeup contouring techniques wasn't difficult enough... but the best part about hair contouring is it is done by a professional so you do not need to learn much about it).

Have you ever seen a celebrity and thought wow their new hair make their face look totally different?  This is because their hair have been contoured strategically to give them that perfect face shape.
Hair contouring is strategically using highlights and lowlights in the hair to get your desired face shape. The principle is the same as in any other form of art which is using lighter shades for the areas we want to highlight and darker for the areas which we don't want to be seen.
Many Hollywood celebrities now wakeup with a perfectly contoured face without putting on any makeup. Have a look at some of these celebrities:

Jessica Alba hair contouring
Drew Barrymore hair contouring

Until recently I did not know that there is something like hair contouring but now when I know about it I really want to try it.

What do you think of this hair trend? Would you like to try it? Tell me in the comments

That's it for now
I'll be back soon
Till then Bubye
Take care :)
