Fair and Lovely BB cream- review and swatches

Hello everyone!

I am back with another product review and today I am going to talk about Fair and Lovely BB Cream.

Fair and Lovely is that one brand which I think is known to every household in the subcontinent i.e. Pakistan and India, their ad campaigns are obviously insulting and discriminate against darker skin tones but most of us still use this cream if not for fairness than because it gives an instant brightness and made up look to the face and we all need something like that for times when we don’t want to put on makeup but want to look polished and presentable.
I used Fair and Lovely fairness Cream a few years back but I did not have a very good experience with it so I stopped using it and because of that I did not have high expectations with this BB cream. But since it was really inexpensive and I was already making an order on daraz.pk so I added it to the cart just to try it out.

I have used it for more than a month and now I'll share my experience with you here.. So let’s get started:
The cream comes in a regular pink and white plastic tube with some golden detailing. The screw cap shuts down tightly so it’s quite travel friendly. It comes in different sizes but I only found the smaller 18g one.
It has a fruity smell exactly like the fair and lovely fairness cream, the smell is strong when it's applied but it goes away after a few minutes.
Before

After

The cream has a thick consistency so I find it a little hard to blend. It blends better if I put it in small dots and blend each dot separately instead of trying to blend at once on whole face. Also, you can not use any brush or sponge to blend it, the only way to blend it is using your fingertips.
It gives a waxy kind of touch to my face and also leaves a white cast. The cream gives a matte finish when applied and looks OK for 3-4 hours but after that my T-zone starts getting really oily. Also this cream has a tendency to clog pores which ultimately result in blackheads.
This BB cream is only available in one shade which I think suits most Pakistani girls with medium skin tone (it looks OK on me) but I think it wouldn’t be suitable for girls who have a little darker skin tone.
It does not give any coverage and does not hide any blemishes or dark spots but yes it instantly brightens up my complexion by evening out the skin tone. Watch the video to see the final result it gives after application.

In the end, I would say that it's an OK product for days when you are in a hurry and don't want to put on a lot of makeup but I don't think I would be using it a lot because it clogs my pores.
That's is for today. I'll be back soon till then take care...

Latest beauty tools that every girl should have...

Hello beauties!
I am back with another post in 5 things every girl should have series and today I am going to talk about 5 electric beauty tools that every girl should have. So without any delay let’s get started:

A Hair Straightener Brush:
Straight hair never go out of style. You can wear them anywhere, at any time of the day and they look appropriate but not everybody is blessed with naturally straight hair so most of us need to get them straightened. Over the years many permanent hair straightening methods have been introduced but use of straightening irons is still the most popular.
I think a fast hair straightener brush is a must have for every girl who does not have naturally straight hair because these straightener brushes are easy to use and do the job quickly.

A Manicure Set:
A freshly done manicure always make us feel good and confident about ourselves but salon manicures are expensive and time consuming so I think it’s a good idea to invest in a manicure set like this one (Touch beauty electric manicure set and learn some manicure skills to do it at home.

Electric Facial Cleanser:
A few years ago electric facial cleansing brushes were introduced and every blogger and youtuber started raving about them. I haven't joined the bandwagon yet because I'd heard that sometimes these cleansers cause breakouts but after a lot of research I think an electric cleanser can be a good addition to my stash and that's why I am planning to buy one soon.  They not only cleanse and remove the dirt from the face but also exfoliate the dead skin at the same time. These brushes definitely give better result than manual cleansing but the key for getting maximum benefit from them is not to use them excessively and keeoing the brush really clean.

An electric shaver:
There are many methods available for removing unwanted hair but the easiest, cheapest and the least painful is shaving. I think everyone should invest in a good electric shaver because they are cost effective in the long run.

Blow Dryer
Air drying is healthy for the hair but we all know there are times when we can’t avoid blow drying. For me a blow dryer is a must have product for days when I am in a hurry and don’t want my dripping hair to leave wet patches at the back of my shirt. A hair dryer not only helps in drying out the locks but also give them volume and style.

So that’s it for today girls…

2 Minute cake in a microwave recipe

Hello beauties!

I am back.
Today's post is not going to be a usual one because it's not about beauty or fashion or anything like that, it's a food recipe instead.
I am not much into cooking so I never try those difficult recipes that take forever to cook. I only try recipes that taste good and are easy to make. I tried this 2 minute brownie in a mug recipe a few days back and I loved it so I thought of sharing this with you.
It does not look very good in the video but believe me it was yummy...

So enjoy the recipe and tell me in the comments if you like it or not...

Himalaya Herbals Anti Hair Fall Cream- Review

Hello beauties!

I am back. I was not able to update the blog in a long time because I was busy with work and wasn’t getting time to write but now I am back to post regularly (hopefully).
Whenever my work schedule gets hectic or I have my exams or whenever I am stressed for any reason my hair start falling and the same is happening right now.
I was quite happy with my existing hair care routine which I shared here but then I noticed my hair are getting thinner. At first I thought I don’t need to do much about it as I usually have hair fall during this time of the year but then one day I saw this himalaya herbals anti- hair fall cream and decided to give it a go.

Himalaya herbals is a well known Indian brand. It was my first experience with this brand but I have read great things about this brand on many Indian blogs so I was really excited to try this out.

Usage:
As per instructions it should be used twice a day, once at night and second after hair wash on damp hair but it is so oily that I never got the courage to use it on my washed hair. I just use it before going to bed and leave it overnight and then wash it off in the morning.

Packaging:
It comes in a 140 ml white plastic tub with a green lid. The quality of plastic is not very good but not bad either, it’s pretty average with green and red printing.

Smell:
It smells like most Indian hair oils which contain Amla, the smell is strong but not unbearable for me. It bothers me when I apply but I adjust to it after a few minutes.

Texture:
The consistency is creamy neither thick nor too runny so it’s easy to apply and massage onto hair and scalp. I massage a generous amount on to my scalp and brush it through my hair so it spreads evenly.

Result:
Now comes the most important part i.e. whether the cream actually lives up to its claim or not.
It makes my hair soft and they feel more hydrated and moisturized after I wash it off so I like it for that but even after using it for a month I didn’t see any reduction in hair fall so it was a miss in this respect.
The tub contains 140 ml but a generous amount is needed to be applied so I don’t think it would last more than 10-12 applications.

Availability and price:
The Himalaya herbals products are available on daraz.pk but I did not find this hair cream there. I got mine from a local grocery store for Rs.285/-.

That’s it for today…
I’ll be back soon till then take care
